Sedation Dentistry

Chastain Dental, Dr. Donald Rozema, serving Atlanta, Buckhead, Sandy Springs areaWe are pleased to offer oral sedation dentistry for our patients who are extremely anxious or who need a large amount of treatment in one day. Dental phobia is a real and acknowledged condition. If you avoid dental appointments because of stress and anxiety, Dr. Rozema can help you.

Dr. Rozema will prescribe medication that will make you feel very drowsy but not put you to sleep. When you arrive at the office, you will be taken to a comfortable room with a warm blanket and neck pillow. Depending on the amount of treatment to be completed, you may be given more medication and will feel completely relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure. Our well-trained staff will be with you during the entire process attending to your needs. Because of the sedation, you will need to have someone bring you to the office and pick you up at the end of your appointment. All of the effects of the sedation will be gone by the next day, and you will have little memory of the process.

Sedation dentistry is ideal for the highly fearful patient whose anxiety has caused them to neglect their mouths or for the very busy patient who wants to avoid multiple appointments for the dental treatment they need. Call Dr. Rozema to schedule your oral sedation consultation. We will be happy to answer your questions and to provide the care you need, comfortably and stress free.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Dr. Rozema has advanced training in conscious sedation and has been certified by the state of Georgia to administer conscious sedation for patients who are anxious about dental treatment. Conscious sedation does not put patients to sleep. Through the use of oral medications in combination with nitrous oxide, it places the patient in a very relaxed but responsive state for the course of treatment. Dr. Rozema is a member of DOCS (the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation) and will be happy to meet with you to decide if you would benefit from treatment while under sedation.

The Truth About Sedation Dentistry

It is possible to correct years of dental neglect without anxiety and fear. In fact, with oral conscious sedation, you probably won’t remember a thing.

Dr. Rozema and his team at Chastain Dental understand these situations and want to help by offering oral conscious sedation to their patients.

With oral conscious sedation, all you have to do is take a few small pills, sit back, and relax, knowing you will be comfortable for your entire visit! It is safe, it works every time, and it is a great way to get your teeth healthy again and the great smile you deserve!

Don’t postpone your dental work because of time, stress, or fear. Instead, rely on Dr. Rozema and his team at Chastain Dental for their expertise in sedation dentistry to help you overcome your concerns.

Dental problems won’t get better if left untreated. Decay, gum disease, and missing teeth will only cause more significant problems if left untreated, which will mean more expense and time in the dental chair for you.

With teeth whitening, bonding, and porcelain veneers, cosmetic dentistry is virtually limitless. We also offer tooth-colored fillings and crowns for natural-looking restorations. If your teeth need attention, it’s time to overcome the obstacles and prioritize your oral health. Call Dr. Rozema and reserve your appointment now.
